Valentines Weekend

The weekend started with receiving this on Friday from the little miss. The cutest craft I ever did see!

Flowers from the hubs.

Friday afternoon continued with a Parents Night Out hosted by our daycare.  All three of us went to a great happy hour at Yardhouse, then we dropped off Alex at daycare from 6:45-9:45 and went and saw American Sniper. It was an intense movie but a great choice to see in the theater, since that doesn't get to happen often anymore! Love Bradley Cooper, although it didn't even seem like him in this movie, which showed what an amazing job he did to portray Chris Kyle.
Happy hour at Yardhouse before the movie.

Saturday, after my usual Saturday morning LTB (that's Pure Barre terms standing for Lift, Tone, Burn :) ), we took advantage of the 67 degree day and headed down by Denver University to follow our favorite local food truck, Querio Arepas.  They are a Venezuelan, gluten free (although we are not) Denver based truck who has appeared on countless Food network shows.  I usually get the famous Reina Pepiada, which is a english muffin style pita filed with chicken, citrus slaw, and avocado (SO GOOD), but this time I got the Salmon one called El Caribe which was also quite tasty. Brandon had the Pabellon, made with beef.  However, my favorite is still the Reina, and I believe that is their most popular as well.  I think it is truly the flat bread that makes it so delicious. While we waited for our food, we checked out a new brewery where the food truck was parked, called Fermaentra.  We got a beer flight of mini beers so we could check them all out and my favorite were of course the lighter and fruitier ones, in particular the Prisma.  We will definitely be back, especially if Quera Arepas is there.

Family shot...Alex wasn't feelin it.

Beautiful & her mom

Avery even came along to the brewery.

A snapshot of Saturday.

After that we decided to walk around Wash Park. (Confession, we've lived in Colorado for 2.5 years and we had never been to Wash Park- driven by it, but never actually gotten out and walked around it).  It was worth the hype. There were so many people running, walking, biking, hanging out, picnicking, and playing volleyball.  Only in Denver in February would you see several guys without shirts. ( And only in Denver would it me a snowmageddon two days later.).  We walked about 2 miles around the park with the puppy and baby.

The night ended with a heartbaker pizza from Papa Murphy's and some rousing games of darts on our new dart board in the basement.  Props to the hubs for making this rustic, dart board case thingy, he's quite handy.
I keep winning at darts.  For real.

Alex's new table. Randomly threw that in here.

our pizza, but not our actual pizza :)

Sunday was a day of errands and chores, nothing too exciting here.  Today, Monday, I am off and plan on hanging at home with the baby since it is so snowy out.  I see lots of books, snuggles and hot chocolate on the menu for today.

Ps.  HAPPY BELATED BDAY TO THIS DADDY AND HUBBY (2/11).  He's the best. Cheers to 27!
